Please lock valuables out of sight in the trunk of your car when parking at San Felasco
Hammock. There have been numerous car break-ins reported in this area.
The San Felasco Hammock Trail is located on Millhopper Road (NW 53rd Avenue),
about 5 miles west of the Hunter's Crossing Shopping Center. There's a small
parking lot on the south side of the road (to your left if you are driving west
from Hunter's Crossing). There's a short nature trail near the parking lot, but
most runners use the longer trails (pictured above), which is across the street
from the parking lot. This trail is in a remote location, so don't run alone.
Be sure to take a map or run with someone familiar with the layout. There are two
main loops that are connected in the middle: the yellow loop is about 5.5 miles, the
blue loop is about 4.5 miles. Run the outside of both to reach about 8. There are
other trails shown on the map that is available at the trailhead. There are also
many other unmarked trails not on the map to explore.
