16th Great Gainesville Road Race 5K Saturday, February 26, 2005 at 9 AM Harn Museum of Art on UF Campus (Note: New race location this year) ** A Florida Track Club Grand Prix Event ** This year's race benefits the 345th Army Reserve Hospital Support Unit Family Support Fund - a terrific charity! We will also have CASH PRIZES again this year! There will also be a FREE Kids Fun Run at 10:00 AM - with a trophy for the first boy and girl and medals for all finishers!

I know that running a road race is a potentially hazardous activity. I should not enter and run unless I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to my ability to safely complete the run. I assume all risks associated with running in this event including, but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effect of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and conditions of the road, all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, baby joggers, roller skates or blades, animals and radio headsets are not allowed in the race and I will abide by this guideline. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the ROAD RUNNERS CLUB OF AMERICA, the FLORIDA TRACK CLUB, the University of Florida and all sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event though the liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I further grant permission to this race and organization conducting the race and/or agents authorized by them to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings, or any other record of this event for any purpose.
RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS AGREEMENT
As participant in Great Gainesville Road Race 5K sponsored by the Florida Track Club (“the Organization”), I am fully aware of the risks and hazards connected with my participation in road race (“Activity”), and hereby elect to voluntarily participate in the Activity, knowing that the Activity may be hazardous to me or my property. I VOLUNTARILY ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISKS OF LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR PERSONAL INJURY, that may be sustained by me, or any loss or damage to property owned by me, as a result of being engaged in the Activity, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE ORGANIZATION OR ITS VOLUNTEERS, AGENTS, or otherwise. I hereby RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the Organization, the University of Florida Board of Trustees, the State of Florida, and their officers, servants, agents, employees, or volunteers (hereinafter “RELEASEES”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES or otherwise, while participating in the Activity. It is my express intent that this Release and Hold Harmless Agreement (hereinafter “Agreement”) shall bind the members of my family, if I am alive, and my heirs, assigns and personal representatives, if I am deceased, and shall be deemed as a RELEASE, WAIVER, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE the above-named RELEASEES. I hereby further agree that this Agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida. I hereby acknowledge that neither the Organization nor the sponsored Activity are affiliated with the University of Florida.
